Judging Criteria

  • 1. Connection to Theme: Thematic Alignment - 10%
    How intentionally does the project integrate faith and technology? Is the connection thoughtful and genuine, or superficial?
  • 1. Connection to Theme: Ethical Design - 10%
    Did the team think through the ethical implications of their tech choices? e.g. privacy, bias, accessibility, or unintended harm. Are their decisions guided by a values-driven framework?
  • 2. Project Idea: Real-World Application - 10%
    Does the project solve a genuine problem or fill a real need? Would someone actually use this? (e.g. everyday tools, quality-of-life improvements, ministry aids
  • 2. Project Idea: Creativity & Originality - 10%
    Is the concept fresh or inventive? Does it go beyond generic or obvious implementations? Does it surprise or delight?
  • 3. Technical Depth: Tools & Libraries - 10%
    Did the team leverage appropriate frameworks, APIs, or libraries? Are the choices well-suited to the problem they set out to solve?
  • 3. Technical Depth: Tech Stack Diversity - 10%
    Did the project integrate multiple technologies or systems meaningfully? Is there evidence of deliberate architectural thinking?
  • 4. Design & Thoughtfulness: UI/UX - 10%
    Was thought put into how users interact with the project? Does the interface feel intentional?
  • 4. Design & Thoughtfulness: Presentation and Product - 10%
    Can the team articulate what their project is and where the project is going? Does the design reflect forward-thinking?
  • 5. Execution & Understanding: Project Completeness - 10%
    How much of the intended project is functional? Partial but solid work is valued. Judge what exists and the potential of what's presented.
  • 5. Execution & Understanding: Code Comprehension - 10%
    During the Q&A, can team members explain how their code works at a conceptual level? Do they understand the decisions made, AI-assisted or otherwise?
